Jeans test helps you focus on your feelings, look

Allow me to guess - you awoke one morning, looked in the mirror and decided you have to lose 5 pounds. Maybe you couldn't find anything to wear as well as your go-to "fat pants" didn't feel comfortable.

Which means you decided this was the day to create a change.

At breakfast, you ate a bowl of oatmeal and 7 Days Herbal Slim a bit of fruit. Lunch came around and you picked a salad. Dinner was simple: a protein and vegetable. You skipped any carbs since you heard carbs make you fat.

The next morning, you were 2 pounds lighter. You felt good.

Right?

Wrong! How many times have you done this to yourself?

This can be a vicious circle most people play. They focus too much around the number around the scale, instead of the way they think and look. This eventually leads to frustration and failure to reach your goals.

I've caused countless women on fitness and weight loss through the years. I almost always get the same answer when I question them their primary fitness goal. Ninety-nine percent of times it's a number.

We are always attempting to beat the size. You want to weigh the same as we whenever we were in senior high school. Or whenever we got married. Or before we'd an infant.

Regardless of the amount of time in your lifetime, we are too focused on a number.

For a lot of people, the number we have seen on the scale dictates our mood for the day. Whether it's lower than we expected, we are ecstatic and everybody around us will have an excellent day. But when it's higher, watch out for Scalezilla.

There's a lot more to health and fitness number. Honestly, exactly what does 120 pounds look like?

Fall into line five women who weigh 120 pounds and each of these have a different body shape. Many will hold weight in their lower body, some within their torso. You can never compare you to ultimately another person.

When individuals discover I am in the fitness industry, they want the skinny on losing those last 5 pounds. My advice: Throw out the scale. They look at me like I'm crazy.

Consider it, though. How often does your weight fluctuate? Do you drink lots of water? Did you eat late at night? Is there a lot of sodium in your diet? Jumping on a scale every day will do nothing but drive you crazy.

How do we determine if you are making progress? I personally use the jeans test since it gives a precise reading. You can either fit in them or else you pour from them.

We all have a popular set of jeans that simply fit a little too snug. But you keep them around just in case you drop that 5 pounds.

Remove them of the closet and hang them up somewhere you can see them every single day.

Try these jeans on every Monday morning, first thing. Take a selfie while facing a full-length mirror. Give consideration if the jeans feel tight in a few areas. Are you throwing out the top? Can you button them?

I actually do this test on a Monday because following a long weekend of eating and drinking you most likely look and feel your worst. Hopefully through the second or third week, you start making better decisions regarding your weekend. If you take an image search week-by-week and see your progress.

The greater you will get from numbers and scales, the greater your results will be. You will start hearing the body and Imelda Perfect Slim the way it feels with particular foods and exercise. Once you begin listening to it, the options are endless.

If you are not ready to get rid of the size, maybe just place it in the closet.

Only one thing is for sure - the jeans don't lie.
